Meet Lenny (deceased) our first Spinone and a no-history rescue. Lenny was the quintessential clown and major contributor to our current love of the breed. He LOVED car rides, particularly in the convertible. Although we could never be certain of his age, we believe Lenny was about 13 when he passed. Beverlee and Chad

I had the honor of being Judy and Lou Schrecker's cleaning lady for over 20 years and could not ask for nicer customers and more importantly friends. They had several 4-leggeed 'children', 3 of which have been Spinoni. Bella was their last. She passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. What a vibrant personality she had and what a greeting I would get from her every 2 weeks when I came. Judy and Lou are such wonderful, caring, loving dog owners and have taken care of each of their dogs in spectacular fashion. Bella had a history of seizures and unfortunately this affliction took her. She turned 7 on December 3rd, 2016.
It is our honor to make a memorial donation to SCOA in memory of Bella. With love, Kathy and Tim Thomas
Thank you Kathy and Tim for making the generous donation in memory of Bella. Our sincere sympathy to Judy and Lou for her loss. The board.

Frequently we are asked how big they get. Or hear comments about how large they are. The wise crackers around here say it's 'because they eat their young'.

Pete & Annie, New York City;">Before Oca became comfortable in the water, this was one of his first adventures in a local lake, checking out fish in the lily pads. As in everything, I needed to come up w/a name for it, hence, "snurfling". Its become something that he does regularly when we come upon water. He certainly has come to enjoy it & I have to giggle watching him. Just another part of the "Spinone way" of doing things.

In Loving Memory of our best friend ENZO (February 9, 2004 - September 26, 2011)

Bred and Loved by Bob and Birdie Nelson (Busy B’s Spinone)
Tribute written by Ernie Conover
From the first time I saw the little five week old puppy with the orange yarn around his neck, I knew he was special, just how special I never dreamed. I could list pages of accomplishments and stories of his successes but that is too much to think about at the present moment. He was born February 9th 2004, the last puppy in a litter of 6. This was the last time he would ever be "last". He came home April 2004 and became "ENZO". From that day he was my constant companion, never leaving my side, always happy to be part of whatever I was doing. Through Enzo, I saw more of the United States than I had in all my previous years. The best tour guide one could ever ask for. As with all the best things in life they end much too soon. God took Enzo from us because he must have wanted to have him by his side as he was by mine for 7 years 7 months. Enzo had a life filled with love, touching every stranger he met in a way that left each and every one of them saying "I want a dog just like that". There will never be another like him and my only wish is that everyone who ever patted him on the head, scratched his bearded chin, or was lucky enough to get one of his kisses remembers how special they felt in that moment. I have thousands of these memories flooding through me and it is the only thing that washes away the sadness for a minute here and there.

Spinoni can get themselves into small places, especially when there is food involved. However, they aren't always fast enough to get back out before being caught. I wonder who has been eating the Havanese puppy's food?

We had to say our final goodbye to Bell on August 16th. She would have been 13 in October on Norm’s birthday. Bell was a wonderful hunting dog earning two Utility Prize 1’s and going to the NAVHDA Invitational in 2004 and 2005. She learned to duck hunt in the Louisiana swamp and her desire to duck search and retrieve was her best attribute. Bell hunted all over the county with Norm and was known to express her displeasure when he missed a shot. Bell was not only a great hunting companion but a great family dog who represented all that is wonderful about the Spinone breed. She was a special dog and we miss her a lot.
