Overview CHIC
The Canine Health Information Centre (CHIC) was established as an extension of what the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) had started in orthopedic disease back in 1966. They are now a blended organization that works together to help decrease genetic diseases.
The CHIC is in partnership with many Breed clubs, including SCOA, so that we can all work together to achieve the CHIC mission...
“to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease”
CHIC is also actively involved in many research initiatives.
Through testing results submitted to the OFA for Spinone, CHIC/OFA provides Annual Breed Statistics that are helpful in tracking trends or concerns. OFA/CHIC Breed Statistics
