Immune System
There is nothing more essential to the health of a dog than their immune system. This system is based in a dog’s bone marrow and works with the blood circulatory and lymphatic systems to ensure the bodycandefend itself from microscopic invaders (viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites).Unfortunately, the immune system can fail by overreacting (allergies), underreacting (cancer), or inappropriately reacting (autoimmune diseases), which can lead to a huge number of illnesses in our beloved companions. Use the links below for a more thorough look at the canine immune system and associated illnesses. These links are by no means comprehensive but should provide a leaping off point for your own research!
