Judging Pee Wee and Junior Showmanship at the National

I had the honor of judging the Peewee Showmanship as well as Junior Showmanship at the Spinone Italiano National. 

First in the ring were the Peewees.  Adorable children with their Mom and dog.  For a few, it was their first time in the ring so we took it easy and kept it very simple.  With the children who had a little experience, they were given a few tips and advice along with praise.   Each child got to pick a stuffed animal.

Next in the ring was Novice Junior Showmanship.   This young man shows a lot of promise in handling his dog.

Open Class had 2 entries, both very accomplished as handlers.

Master Class had 2 entries.  Both of these young people were good handlers.

My decision in picking a Best Junior and Reserve was not an easy one.  Each exhibitor did a very good job with their dogs.  In making my decision it is the same as judging dogs, who is the best overall.  

On this day I chose Theron Hull-Walton, winner of the Open Class, as my Best Junior in Show.  For Reserve Best Junior I chose Kylie West, who had won the Master Class.  

Congratulations to each Junior as they all did a wonderful job with their dogs.
