Those who were able to attend the National Specialty and Business Meeting in Colorado in June had an opportunity to attend many valuable health seminars, training workshops, and hunt tests, in addition to the National Specialty and Parent Club Specialty shows. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to Debby Forry and the entire National Specialty Committee for a well-run and productive event!

The National Specialty for 2020 will be hosted in Weirton, West Virginia, with Bob Steele as the National Specialty Committee chairperson. Hunt test grounds will be nearby at the Mingo Sportsman Club in Bloomingdale, Ohio -- beautiful hunting grounds and the biennial home to the NAVHDA Invitational. I hope that many of you can plan to attend (May 16 -22, 2020). It is always a pleasure to see old friends and meet new ones.

Monroe, Michigan was the site of another large specialty show hosted by the Blue Water Spinone Association at the Ann Arbor Kennel Club shows on July 4th weekend. There were almost 60 Spinoni and their handlers who braved the excessive heat. Congratulations to the winners and kudos to all who showed on one of the hottest summer weekends.

As the summer draws to a close, many of us are training our dogs for NAVHDA and AKC hunt testing, as well as preparing for hunting season. I wish you all good luck in your endeavors, and be safe!
