National Specialty Update
Mike McLeland, President, and the Board
NATIONAL SPECIALTY UPATE:
Dear All,
In light of the current status of the coronavirus epidemic locally and worldwide, the show committee and the board of the Spinone Club of America (“SCOA”) have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 national/parent specialty, hunt tests and all other activities related to the national specialty week that was to begin on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
The show committee requests that anyone wanting to cancel ANYTHING please refrain from doing so for the moment. Because the national specialty and all events associated with the event have been postponed and not cancelled, please do not make any additional payments or request refunds at this point.
For anyone who has paid for RV parking, registration, Top 20, entries, etc., additional information will be made available through direct emails to all members and posted on the SCOA Facebook page. PLEASE NOTE: The hotel is working with a skeleton crew, so please do not call them. The General Manager of the Holiday Inn will cancel ALL reservations after receiving notification from Bob Steele, the show chairperson. In turn, the General Manager will forward the cancellation confirmation numbers (“CCN”) to Bob, who will email each individual their CCN.
The SCOA board and the show committee are working hard to determine the next steps. Once further information is available, it will be disseminated to members through direct emails as well as posting on the SCOA Facebook page.
We will get through this unprecedented event. Our lives will eventually get back to normal. But in order to have this happen, everyone MUST listen to the medical professionals, who know what they are doing and know what they are talking about. Everyone’s life is more important than a dog show. This is not the last national that SCOA will be having; it’s just a hiccup!
If anyone has any concerns or questions, please email Bob Steele at [email protected] or call or text him at (412) 523-0613.
Please stay safe everyone and listen to the medical professionals.
