Sixth SCOA Regional Specialty hosted by Blue Water

Valerie Lewis

This was our sixth specialty in Monroe, Michigan and we have grown every year.  Although it was almost unbearably hot & humid we toughed it out and had a good time.

We are so proud of our exhibitors coming from far & wide (16 states) to grow our specialty to 72 total entries this year!  We had 55 total dogs present & competing.  Five point majors in both dogs & bitches for Friday’s Specialty that held through the Michigan Sporting Dog Association show as well as the Ann Arbor KC shows on Saturday and Sunday!  All four shows!

Our sweepstakes judge was Mrs. Sioux Forsyth-Green, her pick for Best in Sweeps, from the 6-9 month class was, COLLINA D’ORO SOLO UN BACIO.  Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps, also from the 6-9 month class was KALA’S JOHN JAMESON COWBOY.  In Veteran Sweeps the winner was GCH COUCHFIELD’S PERLA DOLCE from the 9-11 year class and Opposite Sex was GCHB STELLAR POINT WORTH THE WAIT JH RN THDN CGCA also from 9-11 year class.

Our specialty judge, Mr. John Russell Palmer is a Bracco breeder.  He came to us all the way from Australia to judge this country’s top Spinoni.  His pick for BOB was GCHS SPINFANDEL THE FORCE IS STRONG CGC and BOS was GCH COLLINA D’ORO MY LITTLE RUNAWAY TO KALA CAA.  BOW and WD was BARBA BAGNATA FLETCHER DI ORSO.  WB was STELLA DEL NORD DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM.  SD was GCHG DARBY CANYON’S DANTES INFERNO CD RN CGC.  SB was GCHB BELLAEBRAVO ABSOLUTE PASSION.  The two AOM went to CH KATYA THEOGONIA BLACK and GCH ILVOLARE AMELIA EARHART.

Out of our 55 competitors 35 were owner handled.  The BOBOH winner was GCH COLLINA D’ORO MY LITTLE RUNAWAY TO KALA CAA.

At the end of a busy, hot day we had our usual pot luck, although most of us couldn’t wait to get  somewhere air conditioned.  Hopefully, next year Mother Nature will be kinder to us.  This was definitely the hottest one, not the wettest one though.

Hope to see you all again next year on July 3, 2020 when we’ll become a veteran show - seven years old!  Everyone be healthy & safe till we meet again.

Val
