Spinone Club of America Nomination for Awards
SCOA Awards Committee
Thank you for choosing to nominate your dog, another member’s dog, or a fellow member for a
prestigious Spinone Club of America perpetual trophy. These awards recognize the best of our
Spinone community for either an annual or a lifetime achievement. While many owners and dogs
may be deserving in any given year, only one will be awarded each trophy.
This nomination process isn’t to be taken lightly! When putting forth your nomination, think of it
as assembling a resume for a high-level position. What will set your candidate apart from the
others? Can you provide documentation of awards and titles received? Do you have photos?
Provide details. Tell the story of why you think this person or dog should be awarded.
For the Award of Recognition, please provide names, birthdates, and titles of puppies.
Documentation of titles for all the awards, especially Rufus, Kemo, and Ty Cup is particularly
helpful. Give the Awards Committee ample reasons to consider your nomination.
If your candidate is not selected, it does not mean they didn’t deserve it, only that another was
selected that year. Please consider nominating your candidate again!
Remember, only nominated dogs and people will be considered for awards. Nominators and
nominees must both be members in good standing of SCOA.
In an effort to promote objectivity and eliminate bias, Awards Committee members will not
nominate dogs for awards. Other SCOA members may nominate the dogs of Awards Committee
members, however Committee members will recuse themselves from the vote for awards in which
they, their dog, or a dog they have bred is a nominee.
Electronic nominations are preferred. Send nominations to the Awards Committee Chair at
[email protected]. If submitting via US Mail, please send to:
