West Coast Spinone Club Update

Susan McGregor

After a lengthy Covid hiatus, the West Coast Spinone Club is up and running and making plans for activities for our members and friends.  Our board met for the first time in person a couple of weeks ago.  We had much to discuss!

First on our agenda is our annual BBQ/social gathering held in conjunction with the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club (Sequim, WA) all-breed shows, July 30, 31, and Aug. 1.  The gathering will take place in the late afternoon/evening on Saturday, July 31 at the home of Alan and Valerie Bush.  The Bush’s have 5 fenced acres and a wonderful large pond for dogs (or people!) to swim in.  We are looking forward to being able to get together once again!

Next up is the 5-day show in Enumclaw, WA. (Olympic Kennel Club and Rainier Sporting Dog Club)  In the past we have held a regional Specialty at this show.  Because of some uncertainty that still exists, we decided not to hold a Specialty this year, but we will have a Supported Entry on the day of the Rainier Sporting Dog show.  Please consider joining us for these shows!

Plans are underway for our annual trip to Eastern Washington for the Hooper, WA Spinfest. This year we’ll have an intro to rally obedience, grooming tips, and a day and a half of hunt training, plus ranch tours and a field trip to a couple of local attractions, Palouse Falls and the Snake River.  Dates are Sept. 24/25/26.  Contact Sue McGregor for more information!
