Morris & Essex Kennel Club

The one and only Morris & Essex Dog Show, held every 5 years, is an exciting and magical show where almost every breed of dog holds a specialty or supported entry, and exhibitors are dressed in attire from the 1930s through 1950s. Antique cars are scattered throughout the show for ample photo opportunities. The entire show shuts down for a box lunch for exhibitors from 12:00 to 1:00.  This year, the show maxed out its entire cap of 4,455 dogs on the sprawling showgrounds. Getting in and out of the show was not for the faint of heart and required extreme patience with major traffic jams. The start time was delayed to accommodate the intense traffic.  2025 marks the 3rd time SCOA has held a Specialty at Morris & Essex.

Ah, but what a show and what a beautiful fall day.  The ring was adequate, and the judges were wonderful and kind.  The Sweepstakes was judged by Ms. Carol Prykosz and the Breed by Mr. Jamie Hubbard.  Entry for the Regular Sweeps was 4,4 (0,0)0; Veterans Sweeps 2-1(0,0)0; Breed 11-8(5-7)3.

The Judges at M&E judge for free and are selected 4 years in advance. It is a gathering like no other.  I am confident that over the next 5 years, the M&E Kennel Club will work out the logistics and SCOA will enjoy another successful Specialty
