Bird Training Workshop Hosted by Rocky Mountain Regional Spinone Club
A great bird training workshop hosted by Rocky Mtn Region Spinone is in the books! We a great group of Spinone and a Griffon that got some good exposure to building positive bird drive. We had constructive conversation on training techniques, training drills, how to plant birds, demos and AKC and NAVHDA hunt events. New attendees to hunt training walked away feeling like hunt training their dog could be an attainable goal.
I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to Jennifer & Gene Barkey for taking the time to come out to make our workshop a great success. Your compassion in sharing your experiences, how you navigated the hunting event when you were new to hunt training was very relatable and valuable to everyone in attendance. Huge thank you to Leif & Karoyln McAfee for opening up their home and sharing their property to also make the event a warm and welcoming event! Thank you to Chuck Forry a long day of planting all the birds... he did a great job! Thank you to Ralf Krautburger for taking all the wonderful photos! Thank you to all who attended, hopefully next year we will have more in attendance.
This was all about getting dog on birds, waking that prey drive.... young dog and older dogs.... they’re never too old to awaken the beast within them. Happy training to all who attended!
