Introducing the SCOA Puppy Club

We’re excited to share that SCOA has officially launched a new initiative, the SCOA Puppy Club, designed to welcome and support new Spinone owners from day one.

The idea came from a simple, happy accident. Puppy Club lead Delita Rosenbaum was reconnected with a new Spinone owner through an old friend, and their pups soon met for a playdate. It was a wonderful, random moment that sparked a big idea: What if those kinds of connections didn’t have to be random at all?

What’s happening now

With the Board’s approval, SCOA is launching a Class of 2025 pilot. Each year’s “class” will receive a warm welcome from SCOA, an invitation to join a private Facebook group for their cohort, and access to select club resources such as newsletters, the event calendar, and the annual photo contest. The goal is simple: to help new owners feel informed, connected, and part of the Spinone family early on, building the next generation of engaged, confident SCOA members.

How breeders can help

Delita has already reached out to SCOA breeders via email with information about the program and how to include their 2025 puppy owners in the Class of 2025. Breeders can share puppy owner contact information directly with her at delitarosenbaum@gmail.com, or simply forward the Puppy Club email invitation to their new owners. SCOA will take it from there, sending the official welcome and Puppy Club details.

Looking ahead

We’re working quickly to get the Class of 2025 off the ground and will be looking for additional volunteers and ideas as we shape next year’s program. Early in 2026, we’ll invite input on what topics, mentors, or resources would best support new owners in their first year.

Puppy Club is an exciting new way to bring breeders, owners, and the entire SCOA community closer together, helping us raise happy, healthy Spinoni and a stronger future for the breed.
